About the Parenting Research Centre

The Parenting Research Centre is Australia's only independent not-for-profit parenting research and development centre dedicated to helping all parents raise happy, healthy children.

The Centre believes that parenting is the critical factor in a child's development and quality of life and that the science of parenting can make a difference in the everyday lives of families and communities. Since 1997, the Parenting Research Centre has conducted research and developed evidence based parenting support programs.

Many of the programs the Centre has designed are now delivered across Australia. 

About the Opportunity

The Parenting Research Centre (PRC) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time or part-time Senior Research Officer to join its talented and dedicated team with opportunity work from either Melbourne Head Office or their Northern Territory Office.

In this challenging and rewarding role, you will conduct program development, implementation and evaluation activities. This will involve delivering parenting programs and supporting professional training for health, education and community service organisations in the Northern Territory. 

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting a diverse range of activities that result in the development and implementation of evidence based information products, programs and practice frameworks;
  • Conducting knowledge exchange and implementation activities;
  • Conducting project planning and implementation activities; and
  • Contributing to grant and tender submissions.

To be considered for this position, you will have successfully completed your Masters in a relevant field and be eligible for professional registration.  You will have practice experience working with children and families as well as skills in facilitating professional education and training events.  A current knowledge of research in parenting and parenting support and advanced skills and experience using literature search databases is also required.

Your exceptional presentation and communication skills will enable you to be successful in this position, as will your ability to deliver high quality outcomes within tight timeframes. 

Experience working with a diverse client group and/or working in the Northern Territory will be highly regarded.

An attractive remuneration $73,987 - $82,313 plus superannuation (pro rata for part time) will be negotiable based on skills and experience.
